Route of the Northwoods Hiawatha documents the length of the Milwaukee Road's Wisconsin Valley line from Tomah and New Lisbon to Star Lake and beyond. It also provides chronology for the line from the 1870s until the 1985 Soo line succession to the remaining property. The line hosted the colorful streamlined North Woods Hiawatha. The publication is a joint production of the Milwaukee Road Historical Association, Marathon County Historical Society and Merrill Publishing Associates. In addition to 194 black and white photos, it includes map, timetable and bibliography.
